Pville Ladies

Rec your energy provider, please.  We're currently in a municipality so we haven't had an option in several years.

Re: Pville Ladies

  • Reliant, they were cheaper by far and you can lock in rates.

  • Reliant here as well.  We used to have TXU and they were crazy expensive, although I didn't realize it at the time until we switched to Reliant.

When I compared last summer, txu and reliant were competitive. We ended up with txu (wind power, 12 month locked in) and haven't had any problems. Knockonwood.

I think they both have referral programs for a little bit off so be sure you use someone as a referral --discount for both of you! Or they did last summer, it might have changed.
  • Thanks for the input.  Has anyone had experience with Green Mountain?  I had them ages ago when the first deregulated, but haven't dealt with them in...6 years?  Their 6 month lock is only 0.4 cents more than Reliant and I really really like the idea of supporting 100% wind power.

Ok, I'm going to get all crazy for a sec, so warning.  Most of the wind power in our nation is not hooked up to power grids.  What Green Mountain does is give money to make this happen, but as of now the odds of you actually getting power from wind are about 5%.  All the wind farms in lubbock and south texas are just sitting there spinning and not hooked up to anything.  It's a big scam and I hate it.

Sorry, I'm really mad about how our country is handling energy things right now :)

  • Ditto on Reliant. We have a locked in rate. We have had them since we moved here and have a really good deal with them.

  • We use Star Tex Power and it was cheaper than Reliant when we renewed recently.  We have renewed with them several times now and had them for approximately 2 years with no issues.

You can go to https://www.powertochoose.org/ to compare rates.
