flying with DD

in a week we r going on a 3 hour plane ride. im a scared to death (about her schedual and her just having a bad trip). we will be gone for 4 days in a different time zone (to the past 2 hours)

is my fear resonable? is there anytips for what to take on the plane? what should i pack? im totally lost on what to do. this is my first child.

DD will turn 4 months, 2 days before we leave.

Re: flying with DD

  • I flew with DS when he was 2 mths old....I took a bottle so I could feed him as we were taking off. Then made sure he had hos pacifier the whole trip. Also a blanket to cover him on the plane. In the airport I had him in the moby. I was scared on how he would do, but he slept the whole flight.

  • I flew with DD when she was 3 months old and she did great. I was so worried because she isn't always the happiest baby, but I gave her a "snack" at her normal eating time then nursed her again an hour later when we took off. She slept for awhile then woke up and smiled at everyone around us for the rest of the trip until she nursed on the descent. I will say we did do "diaper changes" often because they have changing tables in the lavatorys for them to lie on, so when she got restless I took her in there and let her stretch out for a little bit. Then she was fine again. My only recommendation is carry-on only what you need. Its hard going through security and everything with too much stuff. I took her car seat/stroller to gate check and it just made for such a process going through security that I was glad I didn't have tons of other bags. GL!
