I agreed to let DH choose a middle name (unless it was something ridiculous, of course) and he is in love with Madelyn Quinn. I wasn't a huge fan at first, but its grown on me and I do like it. But in the back of my mind, I keep thinking about Noelle as a middle name. I've mentioned it to him, but he says it's a cheesy name (he doesn't like Noelle- he puts it in the same category as virtue names like Grace, Faith, Charity, etc, which he hates). So which do you guys prefer:
Madelyn Quinn or
Madelyn Noelle
Re: Quinn or Noelle?
I dislike Quinn. I think Noelle is much prettier.
Madelyn Noelle
I do not like Quinn being used on girls at all.
This for me as well.
Noelle, definitely.

Both are very pretty names IMO. Quinn reminds me of "Daria", the MTV Beavis & Butthead spinoff from years ago. The lead character's sister (popular valley girl type) was named Quinn.
Where I'm at though, it's not very popular at all. You-neek names are all the rage it seems! I'm a teacher and have never had a Madelyn, and I've talked with my pediatrician (who's also a family friend) and she has no patients named Madelyn. It's 90 something my state's SSA list.
As far as spelling, I like Madeline but I don't want to have to constantly correct pronunciation. My maiden name was a PITA to pronounce and I hated having to correct everyone.
Thanks for the input everyone! Though I like Quinn, I'm going to try to talk DH into Noelle. :-)

I'd also classify Noelle in the Grace, Faith, Hope category, which is just NMS at all. But it does flow nicely with Madelyn.
Quinn on the other hand I adore. It's been used for either gender for a long time, I know 4 Quinn's that are girls and only one that is male.
On its own, I highly prefer Noelle, but I dont think it goes well after Madelyn. The 2 ns right beside each other dont sound right to me.
So go with Quinn!
