Tips for navigating Kaiser Point West

Hey everyone- I'm new to Nrn Ca and am (re)starting our TTC journey at Kaiser Point West. I had some pretty crappy experiences with the Kaiser system in southern CA, and was wondering if you guys had any advice for getting through the system up here successfully. Any helpful hints are appreciated! DH had the required SA, and I had the HSG. First appt is this afternoon.

So glad to be moving this darned process along again!

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Hello, welcome!  I'm sorry that I don't have any tips or advice for you related to SA/HSG/IF at Point West, but I've taken several prenatal classes and we had our NT scan there with one of their sonographers, and we've always had good experiences.  I hope that your appt this afternoon goes smoothly and that you feel good about the care you receive there.  And I hope your TTC journey is a short one!  Good luck :)

  • We had a very positive experience there.  I am guessing this appointment they will give you results from the tests and from there will start you on a plan.  You've done what I thought was the hardest part as far as dealing with the "system".  We were there over 5 years ago but I am hoping they are still wonderful.  They were very on top of everything.  I can't say enough about the nurses, I didn't want to "graduate" and leave them behind with the time came.  They were calling and reminding me when I needed to get in for time sensitive US and such.  Very supportive emotionally too.  If you have any more specific questions I'm happy to answer them if I can.  But once you are in they are very on top of it.  I really felt they wanted to see us PG as badly as we did.  I am wishing you all the best and a short journey from here to your baby!
  • Tanks for the advice! I'm so glad to have heard so many good things about the dept. Refreshing, really.

The appt yesterday went well, but I may try and switch docs so that I'm seeing the Ob/Gyn that works specifically in that dept rather than a NP. I like the idea of being able to consolidate into as few doctors as possible, so why not combine those two!
