Yes, dealing with DSP (Diastasis Symphysis Pubis) which was diagnosed the day after birth. It means an abnormally wide
gap between the two pubic bones at the symphysis pubis joint
situated at the front of the pelvis.
I am going to physical therapy to help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. The pain is still there. They gave me three excerices to do.
The other one I don't know the name of it, but you are on your hands and knees and tighten your stomach muscles and lift your left hand and your right foot and point them and hold them for a couple seconds. Do the same on the other side for 15 times.
My pelvis is very weak because of being on bed rest for 4 months. Once I started walking again Desmond came 3 days after I started to attempt to walk. It is still pretty painful, but not too bad now. My PT wants me walking and tightening my stomach muscles when I walk stairs sort of like holding a kegal while walking. I still am going out of alignment, but once they are strengthen then going out of alignment will be more difficult.
My lower back still pops and grinds and it hurts like hell at the end of the day, but I got to do this or I won't get my strength back if I don't work at it.
Good Luck

Boo, I was really hoping both of your pain would go away after delivery.
I have a friend who only got it after birth and she went to PT a lot and it got better within 3 months. I hope both yours heal before that.
This is what the PT told me... look at about 3 months to recover from DSP. That is as long as I do my excersises and not lay in bed. I've been going for walks every other day. I hope I can get back to normal earlier.

Thank you so much for responding. My doctor didn't do any tests or anything at the hospital. I am obviously trying to recover from the c/s so that doesn't help but I noticed that my lower back still grinds and pops and my left leg still doesn't want to work right and it hurts like hell to move it still. I have noticed a little bit in the pubic bone area but until I don't have the pain from the incision I really can't decipher if it does or does not hurt.
The doctor said she will have me go to physical therapy but I want to see how I can try and manage at home right now. Right now I am trying to nurse and trying to ease some pain so sorry if there are a ton of typos. Nickie........when I can I will send you a PM to get more info. I honestly thought it wouldn't be as bad as it is after I had him and neither did my doc.
