baby to bed without bath?

DH took Elena out for a walk at 6:30 for "10 minutes" and they are not back 30 minutes later. so now i think it's too late for a bath but it kind of skeeves me out to put her to bed without a bath, after playing in the dirt and wearing sunscreen, etc.

Just relax, right? Let her skip the bath? She goes to sleep at 7:30 and likes to watch letter factory before bed.

Yes.  Just think, wallowing in all that dirt overnight is help building her immunities!  ;)

  • Ehhh just relax Smile.  I have put my kids to bed covered in dirt and it's gross but everyone livesWink.  Sometimes other things just take precedence.
  • What's more important to her schedule and routine? Is it the bath or the show? Pick the one she'll be more upset about skipping, I'd say.

  • I at times skip it, but if really needed, I will give a bath and push bedtime back a bit, try and make it a quicker one than usual.

Ditto this! It would be way too upseting for Riley to skip his song before bed but bath is fine.

  • Well the video is definitely more important to her but the bath is important to me, so i did a super fast dip and hair wash, she was climbing out with the shampoo still in her hair! then we watched about half of letter factory and she was ready for bedtime. Thanks all, I know it's not crucial, but it makes me feel better.

  • Meh, my kids don't get baths every night, their skin gets super dry when the do bathe every night....so I see no problem with her missing a bath one night.
  • I have recently gotten lazy about thr bath every night. Instead Logan stands at the sink, I wash his hands/feet really well, and use a wash cloth for his face and bum. It makes me feel like he's clean but without the hassle of the bath.
  • I shower at night so on nights we don't have time for a bath, I throw the girls in with me, do a quick wash and rinse and hand them to DH who dries them off and lotions them while I finish up my shower.  Works so well, that my girls take maybe one bath a week, the rest of the time they shower.

same here .. baths are not an everyday thing here either. if its her bathnight and either she falls asleep early or it gets too late, i'm not opposed to giving her a quick bath the following morning.

  • DS has never been a bathe every day kid.  He doesn't really like it so he doesn't object.  Heck he's started going to sleep sometimes before dinner, in his daytime clothes (which are gross!).  He doesn't brush his teeth, wash his face or anything before falling asleep.  It's sorta gross but when the kid is tired, I try my best to follow his lead.  The next morning though, I clean him up as fast as I can.  :)

Ditto this.  Dr actually told me not to bathe them every night due to their eczema.  And I've also done the shower with us routine too.

On summer days where I feel skin is exposed or they have sunblock on etc, I wash feet and hands and then wipe arms and legs.
