they show up to drop A off. A was in her car seat properly. Beside Allie was GF's grandchild sitting in the seat WITHOUT a seat belt or car seat. She turned 3 right after A. I asked why she wasn't in a seat and said she hasn't had one since she outgrew her baby seat! I offered to put her in A's seat and let them keep it. She wouldn't go in it and they got made at me for making her cry. I put her in it anyway. A and I walk in the house and I see GF taking her back out. I knew they were heading to GF's house one town over. I called the cops. I am sorry the kid can be p!ssed all she wants, at least she has the chance to live and hate me.
Re: I called the cops on my dad's GF
OMG what is wrong with her?! It doesn't matter if she outgrew her baby seat. She's 3! She needs to be in a carseat. Are people that stupid that they don't care about their child's safety???
I wonder if the child's mother is ok with this or even knows about it.
Good for you for calling the cops!
Damn, that sucks all around. I really hope she gets caught because that is some scary crap.

Holy shiit.
You're probably in for a world of shiit from your dad and his gf, but calling was probably the way to go.
Are that kid's parents around, or does grandma have custody?

Pretty sure she does. The child doesn't even own one. I told them to keep Allie's. It was the spare one we had for my dad and mom. Since we are moving we don't need 3 seats.
Exactly. Em is a strong willed hard headed kid, but she knows that when we are in the car she gets in her carseat, Ave gets in hers and Mom and Dad put on seatbelts. That's just how it works.
My dad wasn't with them. That is another story that I am furious with. I don't give a fvck what they say.
I am trying to imagine Ave getting in the seat herself. I need to go back to sleep. lol
LOL. Yeah we make our kids do everything on their own from a very young age. We are total hard asses like that.
I do make Em get in the car and in the carseat by herself now because it saves time. I open her door, let her get in and then put Ave in. You know...when I'm not making her climb in herself .
Speaking of which, has Em changed the oil in the minivan recently? You know how she flakes off like that.
He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
No she's been totally slacking off. She hasn't picked up the dry cleaning either! What's the poing of having kids if they can't change your oil and pick up your dry cleaning?!?!
It's time for her to go to the convent.

I have not spoke with my dad today. I will update if I hear something.
I would have done the same thing. That is downright BS and they obviously have NO regard for that child's safety. Not to mention the mother knowing and partaking in act as well?! Fvck I'd call in even more child endangerment, they obvioulsy need reprimanded and at the very least have to take a course in proper parenting.
This is only one of a laundry list of things that irk the hell out of me that dumbshiit parents do. They may trust their own driving but it takes 1 freakin idiot on the road for something to happen. I'd rather my baby sleep in my arms than in a casket.
Preaching to the choir. The only thing that save Allie was her carseat. The cops and FHP told DH if she weren't strapped properly she would have been seriously injured when we were hit back in Nov.
Oh wow, I'm sorry, I didn't know about that! Glad she was uninjured! And if you haven't already, I'd let your dad and his GF know that that is a prime example of why that child needs to be in a carseat!
We were rear ended, and my SS's booster seat w/seat belt saved him from getting hurt. He was around 6-7 years old at the time.
The guy that hit us had his entire family in the car. His young daughter ended up upside down in the vehicle since she wasn't buckled in. The dumbass totaled both vehicles. The cars had to be pried apart.
