Hi ladies! My little man seems to have inherited his daddy's eczema. The rash is all over his little cheeks, chin, and ears...I've noticed that its spreading to his scalp as well. It seems to worsen when formula has spilled on his face. The doctor gave us samples of a topical cream to use but its not really helping much. Any ideas on what else I can use?...natural remedies?
I hate that my little monkey has this rash....
Re: Eczema
What is the cream your dr gave you? Put the cream the dr prescribed on and then coat with aquaphor. This will create a moisture barrier. Eczema is a constant battle. My 2 year old has it really bad and the most important thing is keeping the skin moist. We have had her allergy tested and she is not allergic to the known allergerns, but it might be too soon for you to have that done with your DS. DD's didn't appear until she was 9 months or so, so some of the other things we do might not be for a younger baby
Use a good baby wash free of dyes, perfumes, etc. We use Burt's Bees. Wash the whole family's clothes in a dye free and clear detergent and no fabric softener. If your DH has eczema you might already be doing that. Run a humidifier at night for additional moisture, especially in the winter.
