"First" Father's Day

Wondering if other's have thought about this or are doing anything for the new dad's to be? For Mother's Day I received a few cards and flowers from people so I'm looking for some cute ideas for my DH for his "first" Father's Day. He definitely wouldn't want me to do anything crazy but something to recognize that he's also going to be a father soon would be cute! Any ideas or thoughts on this??

    I got DH baby items that he can relate too.... a Yankee onesie, a bib that says something about My Dad Rocks, boxers that say #1 Dad.  Cheesy stuff that is for the baby and didn't cost me a ton....

    I Plan on getting him a card, and his fav. drink from starbucks maybe make him breakfast too, keeping it simple lol. He got me a card for Mothers Day so i def. want to recognize it for him :)

    I got the mister a card, and it was a FUNNY one... I found it at target, and it has a positive pregnancy test on the front of it and it says: "dear dad... thanks for getting mom pregnant." and on the inside it says: "no really, I wouldn't be the person I am today without you" I thought it was PERFECT! haha.

    I'm also making him (well the baby) a soccer onesie outfit with his favorite team, I have to make it because his favorite team is a Colombian team from where he grew up, and they don't have baby outfits for teams like over here in the US. 

    Hope you can get some ideas outta that!

    I'm probably going to get DH a card and a small gift. We both agreed that we don't really want to celebrate Mother's/Father's Day until next year when our son is here, but I still want to give DH a little something.

    I'm going to have to go to Target to check out the cards. That's hilarious :)

    Thanks ladies!! We're having a girl so I'm not big on dressing her in sporty or boyish stuff but I may have to find a Braves onsie to give him...

    well DD was born by the time H had his first fathers day but all I picked up was a feetie outfit that said my daddy loves me.. or makes me smile or something like that... All hes getting this year is a shirt that says "Drink coke cola" as a joke since he works for coke now.. :) Plus he doesnt see it as a big holiday since i mainly see it for the kids.. next year DD can make him macaronni art or something, hah.

    Target had a few dad-to-be cards, so I grabbed one the other day. I ordered this book https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1931686238 for him. He's a homebrewer so I also got him these:

    DH got me diamond earings and a really sweet card for Mother's Day.  I wasn't expecting anything so I was really touched that he did something so nice for me.

    It came last week and is awesome!  He's been asking for something to hang in his office for a couple years and is a big golfer so this is perfect.  I can't wait to give it to him!!

    I wanted to get him a Daddy related outfit for the baby but the only thing Kohls had involved camoflauge and he doesn't hunt so I didn't get it.

    For Mother's Day, DH got me a card and 2 outfits from the layette collection at Janie and Jack that I had my eye one.

    I am getting him a card and also the White Sox diaper bag that he wants and registered for.

    I'm getting H a hardbound copy of "The Hobbit" with lots of pictures. Both our dad read it to us when we were kids and He's excited to read it to our little guy someday.

    Monsieur specifically asked me not to do anything (as I asked him not to do anything for me for Mothers Day). So I would just say, on the off-chance he's in the same weird little boat as my husband and I, make sure he would like for you to do something at all.

    For mothers day I received a card & a gerber daisy plant for our new planter in the back yard.  I also got cards from friends/family which was very sweet...

    For fathers day I got DH a card from the dog, a card from the baby, and a few cute "Daddy's Girl", "Daddy's Princess" onesies for him to open.  I also got him a N.E. Patriots Diaper bag but I'm thinking that can be part of his birthday gift next month... filled with other non-dad goodies...

    FI didn't do anything for me for Mother's Day and he has asked me several times not to do anything for him for Father's Day. He says we aren't parents YET, so why bother?

    I'm going to make him tacos and probably give him a little somethin' somethin' later anyway.

    February 19, 2010- BFP! March 14, 2010- M/C January 17, 2011- BFP! April 26th, 2011- It's a boy! Due September 20, 2011 May 2, 2011- Confirmed Gastroschisis August 7, 2011- Labor begins August 12, 2011- Max is born October 4, 2011- Max comes home!
