Preschool board games: misses and big hits?

which games does your 3+yr old enjoy?

which ones are big duds?

 

DD looooooooooves playing games. we have several board games and she loves playing them. I still do NOT for the life of me understand the damn fascination with Hi-Ho Cherry-O. ..... And Candy Land was SOOOOOOOOOOO much more magical when I was a kid (but DD loooves it).

What games are your kids hot and cold about?

    Candy Land is a huge hit.  I don't get it either but I also loved it as a kid.  My son also loves Chutes and Ladders.  Those are the only 2 board games at the moment that he loves- my son is still in love with anything train related.
    3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
    IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

    Hullabaloo is a big hit.  Not really a board game b/c they move all over the room, but it's super fun.

    Hi Ho Cheerio was a big miss.  I just ended up with tiny cheeries all over my floor.

    Memory was a big miss.  They enjoy it more on the Leapster than with the little cards, which was sad b/c it was one of my faves as a kid.

    Don't break the ice was a dud too.

    Our favorites now are Uno and Dominos.  DD can play Uno open face with a little prodding. She only needs a little help with dominos (scholastic has a good dominos game for kids).

    Fancy Nancy Posh Bedroom - my girls just don't "get" this game and it's made for older kids. Too much fighting.

    So far, pretty much all of his games have been hits:

    Zingo

    Candyland

    Ladybug Game

    Busytown

    Cars memory matching and another random memory matching

    Dinosaur Train

    My DS doesn't seem to be particularly picky about his games. LOL!

    The absolute favorite with all the kids (my kids, nieces, nephews, etc.) in my family is Uno Moo.  They love, love, love it.  Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, a dog themed bingo game and Buckaroo (the one where you load the horse's saddle w/his gear and try to not make him buck) are all popular too.  Memory depends on the day.

    Hits:  Hi-Ho Cherry-O, Candyland, Ladybug Game, Cootie Bug, Puzzles,

    We have Chutes and Ladders, but haven't brought it out yet.  We're waiting to do that when my dad comes to take care of her for a few days so she has something new.

    Gisele loooooves her memory game. (funny how kids are so different sometimes)

    Hits: Elefun, Cootie, Hungry Caterpillar, Panda Bear, Panda Bear, LadyBug game, Fishing game (where the fish move around),

    Misses: Candyland- is just so so right now, Hi-Ho Cherry-O (she ALWAYS asks to play it and it just never goes well- she gets bored and the spinner is set up so strangely)

    we haven't busted out Chutes and ladders yet- waiting for the next rainy day.

    Zingo!  We only have that and candy land right now.  I don't know any kid that doesn't like zingo though.

    My DS likes: Memory, CandyLand, Chutes and ladders, Busytown, Don't Break the Ice.  He sometimes lacks focus or continued interest in following the rules with playing games, but that's not related to any specific game.
