Cincinnati Babies

my big announcement

haha ok so Ive been prodded to officially post that i'm 16 weeks pregnant! I finally got a ticker and decided to stop stressing and start planning. ahhh! I think I'll be around here 100% more often bc I have no idea what I'm doing. I would also like to confess that I am officially obsessed with cloth diapering so any initial words of wisdom would be much appreciated.  Smile

ETA: Oh and also- I know it's a long way off but since it's been top of mind- we''ll be looking for PT child care starting in Feb 2012 so if anyone knows of any in home options on the west side (I live in the Dent/Bridgetown area) please send them my way!

  • Congratulations!!

We cloth diaper with the Bum Genius diapers - mostly Bum Genius Elementals, some Bum Genius 4.0's, Flips, and Econobums.  www.cottonbabies.com. We didn't start until Ethan was 7 months, and wish we would have sooner!  We have had a great experience.  I would recommend a one size diaper that grows, and we like snaps instead of velcro closure, although we have not tried their new velcro.  If you have any questions, let me know!

  • Yay! I hope you stick around and post with us.

We used prefolds in the early weeks and then switched exclusively to BG3.0s. In retrospect, I wish we would have done all-in-ones instead of pockets and snaps instead of velcro, but the velcro was probably better for us anyway, since Charlie was/is so skinny.

  • Congrats!

We have been using BG 3.0's for the past 3 weeks with our little guy and love them.  They are so easy!  We stocked up on 12 of them before he was born when they were on sale for $9.95 and I just noticed there on sale again today so I got 4 more!

  • Thanks everyone! We're very excited. We have our big US in 4 weeks and we will be finding out...hope I can stand to wait that long!

For those that asked about childcare, right now it looks as if we'll need serious part time help, possibly as few as 2-3 hours a day, 3 days a week. DH and I have opposite schedules that barely overlap so I guess if there is a plus side to this, it's that childcare should be affordable! Brougham- if your provider is interested in taking in a baby part time I'd love to have the contact info. You can PM or email me lakota99@aol.com. SKM- If you're still considering as it gets closer to next year definitely let me know!!
