question about swaddle blankets - which is your favorite?

Swaddleme? Miracle Blanket? Summer Infant? Kiddopotamus? Halo Sleep Sack? Woombie?  Or, anyone just swaddle an Aden and Anais blanket?

Thanks experts! I appreciate it.

  • We only use Aden and Anais blankets; once you get the hang of swaddling in general, these are amazing and really easy. Perfect size and weight.

I have a bunch of sleepsacks in the a+a muslin for when we need to ditch the swaddle for good.

  • We use the SwaddleMe. I like the Velcro.

  • I have better success with the plain old blanket from the hospital (yes we took one home without permission). It is the perfect dimension. I had purchased the Summer Swaddle Me blanket but found that the velcro wakes up LO in the middle of night and is too loud. I found the A & A blankets to be too big but others love them.

  • We use the Aden and Anais blankets. They are amazing, and nice a light weight for summer. They are so easy to swaddle with, just perfect!

  • I am a firm believer in the Miracle Blanket.  If you use it from day 1 it is wonderful.  Once you get the hang of how to swaddle the baby tight enough, it is amamzing.  My son will close his eyes before I am done swaddleing him because he likes it so much!

Thank you all! And thanks Scout; I am loving it myself!

  • my LO gets out of everything - a+a blankets, swaddleme and swaddle pod. I didnt like the miracle blanket. I use the halo sleep sack swaddle in fleece. the cotton ones he stretches too much in and can get out. the fleece is a bit heavier than I would like for the summer though. so when its hot I make sure he sleeps in AC so he doesn't overheat. try to get one of each - that way you can try as you go.

  • We have Summer Infant's SwaddleMes. I like how much easier it is to swaddle him and how it stays secure. With the hospital blankets, even at a few weeks old he was able to get it open or with my bad swaddling skills, it wouldn't stay shut. The SwaddleMes make the process quick which is great when I am trying not to wake a sleeping baby!

  • I thought we would love the A+A blankets, but she was able to get out of my very tight swaddle. We then tried the AA+ Swaddleme, she hated it and fussed all night. Then we tried the Miracle Blanket. She got her legs out and fussed all night. We really like the Woombie, so far so good.

(We tried everything with DS and he was good with just a waffle weave swaddle under a SwaddleMe but he was a fall baby, this one is a summer baby)

I would suggest the Woombie. I have heard the Swaddlepod is easy to get arms out of because the neck hole is so large, the Woombie doesn't have that issue and it is very light. As you can see from my post we tried everything too. I am glad I am not the only one who did not like the Miracle Blanket.

The Swaddleme sleeper with the double ended zipper is amazing!  My DD doesn't really like to be swaddled and usually gets out of even the tightest wraps.  These don't keep her so tied down that it drives her crazy but they keep her secure enough so when her arms jerk up while sleeping, it doesn't wake her. The first night she used it she slept almost 8 hours straight for the first time. It's worked every night since Big Smile And if you get the one with the double ended zipper you don't have to worry about velcro being loud and it's great because you can change a dirty diaper in the middle of the night by just unzipping the bottom so that they remain swaddled up top.

I also love the Aden & Anais blankets.  I have six of them and use them for her everyday & on the go blanket. I live in central TX and it's super hot here so these are great.

  • I've used and liked both the Swaddle Me and the Halo swaddle. Nora can now break out of both, though, so we swaddle with her arms out.

  • We used the A+A blankets up until this week for daytime swaddling and recently switched to the Swaddle Me blankets. We use the Miracle Blanket for bedtime.

  • We have been alternating A&A blankets, Swaddlepod and SwaddleMe pouches. So far he only will conk out with A&A, the Swaddlepod as mentioned by another isn't very tight, and he spends a few minutes grunting and kicking trying to escape before going into full scream. The SwaddleMe pouch works but it is much tricker to use than you'd think -- especially in the middle of the night with a squirmy miserable baby.

  • We like the A+A blankets and my son liked the Woombie when he got older. We will probably try to transition to the Woombie when she gets bigger too. It's easier than swaddling old school style.
