Dear Boss,
Yes, I know that "my other adoption sources haven't been working out," but please, please stop passing me newspaper articles about foreign orphanages and telling me maybe I should contact them about "getting a baby." And when I tell you that adoptions have been halted in Vietnam since 2008, don't tell me that maybe they would make an exception, just one, for me. Yes, the kids in the pictures are very cute, and yes it is very sad that they have HIV... but omfg, please stop! And yes, the article you told me about a few weeks ago about fostering a Haitian refugee college student falls in to this same category.

Well, I've kind of painted myself in a corner, because I never told her about our adoption plans until I had to call her back in November to tell her that a baby had been born, oh, we're going to adopt her, and, um, I won't be back to work tomorrow, or anytime soon. (Of course, that didn't work out, but she was very, very kind to me about it.) So... she knows we're waiting to adopt, but I've never explained the whole process to her. Although, honestly, if I had explained any more than I have, she would still be like, why didn't you go get an African baby when you were there? (Ok, she didn't say that this last time, but I wouldn't put it past her).
So, to answer your question, I laugh lightly and fakely, and say, oh that sounds like a nice program, but it's not what we're really interested in. And then I turn back to my computer and type out vents on the Bump
