Did this happen to anyone else?

Before getting PG, I was a big time stomach sleeper.  While PG, I couldn't wait to sleep on my stomach again, but once I was fully recovered and could stand to lay on my stomach (I had a c/s) it wasn't comfortable at all!  My back gets achey and I just can't sleep that way anymore.  I also can't sleep without a pillow between my legs, which was something I didn't do before I got PG.

I still wish I could sleep on my stomach, it used to be so freakin' comfortable!

  • Yeah. Me!

    I used to sleep on my tummy all the time, but ever since the kids, I just rarely do anymore.

  • Not me! And everytime I lay on my stomach, I smile, I missed it so much :) Actually, my back does get achey when I lay on my stomach, but I power through.

    Just sucks when I get engorged and leak, yuck.

    Lucky girl! :)

  • Every once in awhile I can sleep on my tummy but for some reason, it sometimes hurts my back (might be the mattress). Its not as comfy as it used to be - oh and I had a c-section too, not sure if its related.

    Oh I totally forgot about that! It was not comfy sleeping on big rocks. LOL

  • Yup, me too! I also used to sleep on my side a lot more and now I'm mostly a back sleeper. I will say that it took me a long time to try to sleep on my tummy...it felt so awkward after my c/s. Now I'm feeling awkward and discomfort in my back and oddly enough on my jaw (I tend to clench my teeth and jaw more if I'm on my tummy).
  • I could have said this word for word. I still need a pillow on my back, inbetween my legs, and in front.
  • me too!  I have to sleep with a pillow between my legs every night and I never did before I was pregnant!

  • Funny you should mention that. I was just thinking the same thing this morning, when I woke up to an achey back. I did not have a c/s but I experience the same thing. I think it is a redistribution of weight in my case.
  • This is really interesting.  I thought I was just whack, but it sounds like it's pretty common.
  • ::Raises hand::

    I was a full time stomach sleeper until I got PG. Now I'm only comfortable on my side and with a pillow between my knees. When I sleep on my stomach, I wake up with a full back ache and stiffness.
