My two dogs have always been clingy.. always needing to be right on top of me at ALL times.. I was napping on the couch yesterday and my two dogs and non-snuggly kitty were all on me.. lol!
Someone posted a picture of their kitty snuggling their belly the other day.. and I remember thinking man.. I wish my cat did that!
Anyone else noticing a change in their animal(s) behavior?
Re: Clingy Pets (PIP)
Yep! Pup 1 won't have anything to do with me, and actually has been acting more aggressive towards me than usual lately.
Pup 2 on the other hand has been SUPER attentive and likes to sit with his face pressed against my belly. I like to think LO is talking to him from inside
I have a Lab and Welsh Corgi.
My Lab has been GLUED to me recently, especially at night, which is hard because I overheat SO easily. When he first started to get clingy it made me very paranoid becasue you read all those articles where dogs seem to have ESP about when thier human is about to have a seizure or something is wrong.....one weekend my H was out of town and he was so underfoot that I was convinced that something was wrong with me or the baby.
Strangely my Corgi has been a little stand-offish....she's a pretty independent dog anyway and she still ALWAYS wants attention and play time with me in the mornings, but at night when it is time for bed she is content to sleep on her dog bed on the floor or even in her crate (in a room attached to our bedroom) where before she would insist on being on the bed (yes, we are one of those weird couples who let our dogs lay in bed with us....flame away).
They both naturally LOVE kids, which is very neat since this is our first, but anytime we go to the doggie park they just gravitate towards children, so I am not worried about my Corgi, but the pregnancy interaction has been interesting to observe.
Ours are too!
The lab is always clingy, that hasn't changed. He has been suprisingly more gentle with me, which is shocking. He loves to lean against you when you're scratching him, and he's very careful not to step on me or bump me, which is not easy for a clumsy lab.
Our 'houla has never been a big attention seeker/clinger, but she needs to know where I am at all times. She'll follow me around just to sit in the same room as me and watch me, and she seeks out attention from me more, but not DH. She also LOVES the baby's room, and she never hung out in there when it was a guest room. Maybe it's the different furniture
yes, my dog Dayzie is constantly up my butt or right below my feet. she sleeps cuddled btw my belly and my boppy pillow...
