They made me do the first two at the hospital and I was going to continue once I got home but in the struggle to get sleep and care for M I completely forgot about it. Is this bad? I'm very certain that she's eating, pooping and peeing enough. Is it necessary to keep track of these things?
Re: Are you charting feedings, diapers, sleep?
I did for a long time with my first!
This time, not at all. I only did it in the hospital to help keep the nurses in the loop.
I feed DD when she's hungry, change her when she's dirty, and she's growin' like a weed! If there were some kind of an issue, then I would keep track, but she's doing great. Why add the extra work/stress on ourselves to keep a journal?
I tried for the first week, but couldn't remember to do it. We got the Itzbeen timer and used it until C's weight was back up and I still use it at night so I don't have to remember how long it has been since she ate and got a clean diaper.
This! If I notice a problem, I'll do it. But she's growing and I change a million wet diapers a day so I'm not concerned. My pedi hasn't requested it, either, so I don't see the need.
Seems like making work.
I've got plenty to do. I don't need to make up work. I did it in the hospital, but now I'm happy if I can remember what boob to give first (and I only remember that because I move a bracelet back and forth).

Only the first week. Now I konw she's eating enough and she wakes herself to eat, and there's ALWAYS a diaper to change, so I don't worry about it!
Like token, I'm lucky if I give her the right boob first. I switch a ponytail holder back and forth from my wrists to try to keep is straight...and I sometimes still get it wrong.
This. It keeps me sane especially b/c I have my moments of baby brain, it's nice to not have to try and keep track in my brain.
I also like tracking so I can page through and see his ever evolving routine.
I did the bracelet thing too, I was using a silly band and my 2 year old decided it was hers. So now I check for the firmer boob too!

Baby #2 on the way!
I did in the hospital, but haven't since then. I make a mental note when she eats and falls asleep, but I just feed on demand and let her sleep when she wants.
ETA: Violet had also gotten back to her birth weight by 5 days after birth, and the pediatrician told me I could stop waking her to eat at her one week appointment. So there really isn't a reason for me to do anything more than read her cues.

BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
this. the nurses hated me, lol. we have tons of dirty diapers and excellent growth.
DS had weight issues in the beginning, so I started tracking feedings and diapers on the WTEWYE Iphone App. I know I can stop doing this, but it's relatively easy and helps me remember which side to nurse from. I'm also still very paranoid about his weight gain, so it helps ease my mind, because I would not remember how many feedings or diaper changes he had a day.

I downloaded an app for my smartphone and have kept it up. I just do pumping feeding, diapers, and medicine. There is a place to do sleep and baths too. The medicine one is extra helpful to me, that way I don't have to remember when I have her the gripe water or how many times she's had gas drops in a day. (We had a bad time with gas a week ago so she was getting quite a bit).
If I was still writing it down, I would have stopped by now. I had to write it down in the hospital. I got yelled out when I forgot to..."If you write it down, we don't have to bother you if you're asleep." Yes, rude nurse, like you taking my temp and blood pressure, etc doesn't bother me if I'm asleep. (sorry, mini vent there)

I tried for the first day or two home, but I always forgot, so I gave up on trying.
