This may seem like a dumb ?

Is it safe to take a generic form of Tylenol during pregnancy, like any kind of acetaminophen, or does it have to be Tylenol?  Don't judge me for being dumb, please.

  • I don't see why not.  The active ingredients are the same.  I never buy name brand OTC drugs anymore.

  • Yup-- I can't remember the last time I took a name brand medication. Just compare the ingredients to the name brand and you will see they are exactly the same :-)

  • Yes, but the problem I had is that I could never find the regular strength, only extra strength in generic form (not sure why???) so I always ended up buying actual Tylenol because that was all I could find in the regular strength.

  • i also only could find the extra strength and not the regular in generic form, so i bought it but i only take one pill per dose instead of two.
