OK- I have been really down today. A nurse did my u/s and said the biggest follicle is measuring 16 so I won't be triggering as planned. I go back Monday for another u/s and more bw. This is all new to me and since it was a nurse, I didn't ask her any questions. She said, "If you end up doing the IUI it will most likely take place on Wed or Thur" She also asked me where my husband usually collects his specimen. When she put the question that way, it made me think that IUI never works on the first try. I had to explain this was our one and only try. She didn't tell me how many I have total. My u/s on Monday is with the doctor so he will give me more information.I am feeling anxious and emotional because everything was looking so good. I started crying after my bw. I give all of you women tons of credit for going through this journey cycle after cycle. I am starting to see how emotional this process is. This is our only shot at this...
1. Is it possible that it will get bigger while on the same dose of medication?
2. How big do they want it to be?
3. Has this happened to anyone else?
4. Is there a chance they will cancel this cycle based upon a follicle that is too small?
5. They do IUI 36 hours after Trigger shot. Does this sound odd or standard?
Re: Need advice re: u/s & iui
Thank you! The pressure is huge because this is our only chance. Trying to relax and expect great news on Monday and excellent results in about 2 1/2 weeks. Please, God!! Thank you so much for answering my questions.
I'm sorry about this; I'm even sorrier to say that yes, IUI's often do not work on the first try (but sometimes they do!!!). At any rate, as an IUI veteran I can answer your questions.
Hang in there. I know it is so, so hard. Also, on the chance that that lead follicle ovulates before you trigger, I would make sure to BD with your DH this weekend, probably tomorrow.
ditto everything cooper wrote ... including the sex (such an old fashioned way to make a baby ... ha!)
Thank you! I guess it's in God's hands. I wish I had a little more control. I really do appreciate the input, advice and support.
First, cry. Cry all you want. It's a horrible journey and the ups, downs and in-betweens are exhausting. Second, don't get too discouraged. I got PG on my 1st IUI and while this isn't always the case, it does happen. Now ...I thik I can answer some of your questions:

Went for u/s today and 4 beautiful follicles- 2 on each side. Trigger tonight and IUI to take place on Wednesday! Thank you, God! Only time will tell.....
I have been saying a prayer for you too and everyone on this board but we are so close in cycles. I don't remember what he said exactly but I think they were around 18? I am SO bad with numbers but he did say they like to see them between 18-20 and I am right on target. I had to laugh that he took a picture and printed it out for me. Trigger was less painful than the Menopur. Praying this works and feeling very hopeful. Poor husband is a bit nervous about his part of this process ;-) I hope we can go through pregnancy together
