We found out on Friday that we are having a boy. Unfortunately we haven't been able to really celebrate; about 2 minutes after finding out my husband got the news that his mother had died. She had been declining throughout the last week and we had really hoped she'd hold on til we got back from the doctor. So not only was my husband not there when she passed but we also had to sit through the rest of my appointment before we could get home to her. Not that things are by any means back to normal but we are slowly starting to acknowledge that we have something wonderful to look forward to that will hopefully ease the pain of our family. Aside from my parents and a few friends, I have really not had the chance to announce our good news....We are having a BOY!!! My husband really really wanted a boy and after a quickie ultrasound a few weeks back we were really thinking girl, so somehow when it ended up boy it felt right. It happened right as she passed so I like to think she had something to do with it!

    It is bittersweet. And i'm sorry for the loss of your dh's mom.. that is soo sad! But she knows it's a boy...  Congrats on your boy too!!

    After I read your post, I thought of the quote ?Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.?  Although it is sad your MIL passed you have so much to look forward to with your little LO!  Take Care!

    Wow, what a day for you guys! My thought are with you and your family. Like a PP mentioned - I think there's for sure an angel that will watch over your LO :) And congrats of joining Team Blue - certainly exciting news!

    I remember when I was pregnant with DD, my grandmother passed.  I was so sad I never got to tell her that I was adding to her great-grandchildren - she was always so proud of being a great grandmother.  It is so heartbreaking to deal with a loss at such a wonderful time in your life.  I'm sorry for your loss.  Congratulations to you and your H on your little boy!

    I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL and that you didn't have a chance to share your news with her.  I think she definitely knows your news though and how happy the two of you are.

    I'm so sorry for your loss.  There will be plenty of time to celebrate your baby boy.  Take this time to properly grieve.  Your husband must be a mess right now.  HUGS.

    I would think this, too.  :)  I'm so sorry for your loss, but am happy to welcome you to Team Blue!  I'm glad your DH got his wish on such an otherwise heartbreaking day.
