Pfville Peeps- new 24 hr fitness?

Anyone been?  Anyone a member?  Pros?  Cons?  Anyone take any classes yet?  I looked online and it's pretty pricey, but the kids area looks really nice and I'm thinking about doing this for the summer.  TIA!

  • My DH and I were just talking about this. I am thinking about joining too.

  • Instead of monthly, you can pay $199 for one year per person, or $300 per year for two years from Costco.  Those don't include children, though.

I go to the 24 in S Austin and love it. The classes are great, the facilities are clean and well-maintained and everyone is very nice. I frequent pilates, 24SET and Bodypump.

In the beginning they do try to get you to purchase a personal trainer, but after that they won't bother you about it again.

You can get a free 7-day pass to check it out.

  • I go nearly everyday.  Also, know that if you pay for the Pville one, you get access to ALL the other clubs.

I spend my time between the Pville location and the Parmer Ln one.  Things I like about the Pville...towel service (free access to towels and they wash them), pool, and TONS of classes.  I like their yoga classes (you get lavender towels at the very end), and the Zumba classes are fun.  Cycle is hit or miss depending on the instructor, but I feel that way about every Cycle class.

The pool is really nice, I haven't been out there yet, but it's open everyday in the summer.  A lot of my friends go to a class or work out, and then afterwards play at the pool with their kids.

They also have an indoor lap pool, hot tub and sauna.  I love swimming laps and no one is hardly in there.

The equipment is new and nice.  They have several of every aerobic machine that has a TV on it and you can either watch the TV on it or hook up your iPhone and watch a show or whatever you want from there.  It's kinda neat.  They have a TRX band area which is awesome.  It looks like you have to have a trainer to use that area, but you don't.

I don't really have any cons...I guess it's a bit pricy, but it's only a mile from us so I like that.

This club doesn't accept the Costco deal.  I called and asked.  I was SO BUMMED.  :(
  • Fine- buy the deal and register it at the south 24- you still have access to all the locations. ;)

That still won't include the Pflugerville club. It's a supersport unlike all the other clubs so they have their own deals and are separate. I tried that when I was looking.

  • We joined two weeks ago and LOVE it. It's taken about that long for DD to be okay staying in the kids area, but she's going through a separation anxiety phase (which has been lots of fun for me).  Everything is so nice and new, and the girls in the kids room are super sweet. I haven't tried any classes, mainly because they're right around DD's nap time. I'm hoping to make it to at least one spin and yoga class.
