There are a bunch of K of C halls in those areas. I am having mine at O'Kelley's Banquet hall off Michigan Ave and Outer Drive (Dearborn), but that place is larger, I am having a big shower.
I'm from Detroit (originally). I would pick a nice restaurant that has a private area or is willing to close off enough seating for your event. Other options include a local church's recreation/reception/fellowship space (very affordable to rent out).

Re: Where to have a baby shower in Detroit?
you may want to ask the local board. i'd give more info when asking though, like budget.
you can try a restaurant that has a separate banquet area.
Mama Mia's on plymouth in Redford has a separate area and good prices. - however i personally have never been there.
There's also a small banquet hall in Southfield on Evergreen called the Tapestry. again, have not been there but they are smaller.

Delucas in Westland has great food, reasonable prices and a private room. I haven't been there for a shower, but was there for a birthday party.

When I lived in Michigan, we had our family reunions at Van Buren Park. If you want to have an outdoor shower, I recommend that place. It's nice.
