I have never POAS for any of our IUIs or our IVF. My fear is a faint positive that will be a low beta and m/c. But now I am pretty sure it is negative and don't want to wait for a nurse to tell me bad news tomorrow. So should I cave? Does it have to be done in the morning?

I would always POAS after my beta so I knew what to expect. I needed to be prepared for that phone call. By the time a drs would do a beta, you can usually POAS anytime of day and it will be accurate. If its early, then you need first morning.
i vowed to never POAS again because the two cycles when i did were BFNs and the cycle when i didn't was a BFP. so i decided it was bad luck.
i also just didn't see much point in POAS if it still leaves things uncertain, KWIM? if you have to wait until the beta anyway to know if your hcg is high enough to be a viable pregnancy, i felt like there wasn't much point in POAS.
I think if you're thinking it's negative and you don't want bad news on the phone with the nurse then go ahead and POAS. If you really don't want to POAS then you can let the call go to voicemail and listen to it with DH.
Good luck!
