Quick overview - I took my eyes off of Kate for literally a second and she managed to fall and smack her cheek on our hard wood floors. We had to go in for a head CT to check for internal bleeding and to be evaluated to see if a platelet transfusion was needed.
Everything checked out ok, thankfully, but my mom guilt is totally out of control over this.
I feel so, so bad for letting this happen.
Re: ER trip last night :(
Oh no! Poor little girl! I can only imagine how scary that must have been with her condition, but you are not a bad mom!! At all! Absent wrapping her in bubble wrap, which I wouldn't recommend, it's impossible to prevent them from doing something like that!
(((hugs))) I'm glad it all turned out ok!
I am so sorry Kate got hurt. I know the mommy guilt feeling. It just sucks! You are an amazing mom and Kate knows it! I'm so glad she's ok.
And she is so beautiful!
Poor thing. I'm so glad there wasn't anything scarier than a shiner to contend with in the end. You definitely cannot beat yourself up about it, though. You simply won't survive mothering a toddler if you expect yourself to be 100% there 100% of the time. Accidents will happen no matter what you do and are not your fault. Try to be as kind to yourself as you are to your sweet girl.

(((HUGS))) to you and Kate. Mommy guilt is so, so hard to contend with.
PS... I got my kit in the mail today. I'm doing the swabs and sending it back in tomorrow! I hope that sweet Kate finds a donor ASAP!
I'm glad that Kate is okay. Don't feel bad about about her getting hurt, accidents happen to all of us. Prayers for your little sweetie.
