XP: From TTCAL-Back from the RE

I met with the RE today and all of my bloodwork and DH's bloodwork came back normal. No clotting disorders, no genetic abnormailities, absolutely nothing that would explain my miscarriages. The HSG showed that whats left of my left tube is blocked and severely damaged which we knew. After speaking with the Dr. for a while about our options DH and I have decided to move forward with IVF. With me only having one tube doing IUI w/ meds doesnt really make sense because we would still have to wait for my body to O from the right side.

She said with my age and great health she thinks I would be a great candidate for it and that it would be my best and quickest option. The ultimate factor in our decision was that DH and I have been trying for almost 2 yrs and I just don't know if I can handle another year of temping and opk's and BFN's. Emotionally I'm drained and I'm hoping IVF will give us the baby we've been waiting for for so long. If anybody has any advice or experience with the IVF process please share!!

IVF is a huge step, but as I only had 1 tube (and we had TTCAL for almost 3.5 years), it worked well for us. I don't think anything else would have worked, honestly.

Do they offer any type of shared risk type of program? I would look into that, if possible. Hugs and feel free to pm if you have any questions.

Thank you! I'm not sure if they offer a shared risk program but I'll definitely look into it. I'm just nervous about the whole process and I felt like IUI's would just be a waste of time for us. Plus I didn't want to go through taking the meds and getting ready for the IUI just to find out I O'd from the tubeless side and the IUI is being cancelled and rescheduled for next month. This whole process has been so draining emotionally and I'm hoping that IVF will be our answer!

I've done IVF, we got pregnant with it but we had an early m/c and we're getting ready for another IVF cycle. It's big and it's scary but if you take it one step at a time, it's not that bad. I wrote a lot about what I was going through in my blog (I did it in January/Feb). Any questions you have feel free to ask.

I'm getting ready to start my 2nd IVF cycle, I'm actually on BCP's right now. My issues are different, DOR and HD has MFI, but IVF is definately our best bet too. The first one didn't work, but I am really hoping that I will have a better response with a change in protocol. Ask me any questions you want. Best of luck!!

Thanks Ladies! My insurance company normally requires 3 IUI cycles prior to moving to IVF but my Dr. said in several cases like mine where there are tubal issues and past losses insurance company's will usually approve going straight to IVF. So now we wait but if its approved I start BCP on CD 1 which will be beginning to middle of next week. I'm nervous and I'm sure I will have alot of questions as I'm going through the process! Good Luck to everyone else starting IVF as well! I hope it brings us all healthy LO's!
