Coming to Boston...Where to stay

Can some one give me some pointers on where to stay, won't be hainvg a car so I will be relying on public transportation with two kids, will just be there for a Wednesday through Saturday.  A pool is really the only requirement so I can keep the kids busy, somewhere near the attractions would be great.

 Thanks!!

love this hotel.  anything in downtown Boston, with a pool is going to be $$$.  this hotel is down near the aquarium/harbor and a short walk to Fanueil Hall and the shops/ dining.

  • I agree with PP, Longwharf is a good choice.
  • Marriott Copley Place is great as well.

They have a pool and are right in Copley Square, easy to get to Newbury St, good restaurants, the Charles River, the Public Garden.  And if it rains, the hotel is located inside 2 nice large malls so you'd be able to walk around and find places to eat without much of a challenge.  And 2 main public transportation lines are right there (orange and green).

     Have fun!!

Yes  Agree with all of this. The Langham is not far from here and has a pool but I suspect is pricier.

Another poster mentioned Copley which is great but farther from the museums (Aquarium, Museum of Science, Children's Museum) and while Copley has a nice outdoor/walking area for adults with shopping and all - the Long Wharf area is by Faneuil Hall and the Rose Kennedy Greenway which have more kid-friendly outdoor things going on (e.g., street performers, carousels).  That said you can take the T or walk anywhere around the city.

  • The Colonade in Boston has a roof top pool and is in the middle of Newbury St/Boylston St, near the orange line, red line, and green line.  It's right near the Prudential which is a mall, and also near Boston Commons - duck tours etc...  very close to everything.
  • Check the Mass Vacation site for information on Massachusetts lodgings. They have information about a great range of hotels in and around the Boston area. You can filter results by amenities, so you can choose to only see hotels that have a pool for your kids.
