Flying with newborn????

I currently live outside of US but plan to give birth in US (in Dec). I am wondering how soon can I fly with the baby? (it is a long flight...about 13 hours with 1 layover). Should I find a pediatrician so I can ask them? Please help! If anyone has done this, any advice is greatly appreciated!!! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE~!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Flying with newborn????

  • You should find a pedi anyway, but you have time.

I believe it's usually recommended to wait a couple of months. Some people wait until the first set of vaccines so they have a bit more protection. But your pedi can tell you.

  • I am planning to take the baby to Ireland when it is about 2 months old. My pedi said as long as the baby has had it's 2 month check up it will have most of it's shots.

  • Yep, your pedi can tell you better. Enquire about all the precautions and steps you need to take, and I think you?ll do just fine.
