Babysitter rate Raleigh area?

Just curious, what are people paying their sitters (for an ocassional weekly night or day)? How many kids/how old are they?

    The norm is about $10/hr. We pay ours (DD's old daycare teacher who is CPR certified and has a degree in childhood education) $12/hr. We just have one child, and she's almost 2.5.

    We pay our nanny $10/hr to watch both girls when she's babysitting at night.

    I pay mine $10/hr plus 1 hr for gas. So if she is here 3 hrs, I pay her for 4 because she is coming from across town. I could find someone closer, but I really like her and paying her a little extra has its perks - she clears her sitting schedule with me prior to accepting other sitting jobs! :)

    I pay the teenager across the street $7 if DD is asleep when she arrives. This is usually the case. If she does dinner/bath/bed, I pay $10/hr. I always give a bit extra (round up) if we are home after mid-night.
