How do you keep poop from going all the way up LOs back?? Ugh...we've had this happen several times in the last 2 days and I'm about fed up with it! I know he doesn't need a bigger size because we just moved up but ugh...so gross!
I think some kids are just up the back poopers. I know I have one. When he was little I remember asking my mom, how the poop went up that far. You would think gravity would keep it from going up to the neck. yuck! I will say changing it ASAP and making sure the diaper is tight helps (a little).

Yeah it seems like now that he's sitting more rather than laying we are getting more and more up the back. I guess it's got to go somewhere...especially if he's sitting on it!
Have you tried a different brand? Maybe the fit will be different enough to keep the blowouts from happening.
No, we haven't tried any other brands. We have boxes and boxes of Pampers because my dad bought us a box every time he went to Sam's Club when we found out we were PG. I guess it can't hurt to try it and see, but I'd hate for all these Pampers to just sit here.
We used to fold the top down a little so it made a pocket (poop fold), but he hadn't had one in so long (TMI, its so solid there was no need now). We use pampers baby dry which is wide open in back and just folded the top down when we put it on him, but I have noticed it happened less with huggies since they have the elastic in back holding the diaper closer to him. We go back and forth between the 2 brands depending on where he is with size.
On a side note, I will say as soon as I read this earlier DS had the worst blowout ever (and he hasn't had one in MONTHS). I was just thinking how its been so long since we have had that problem, I swear I jinxed it.

Oh no...sorry!
J's has been fairly solid these days now that he's eating more food, but I think I'll try the fold down method before we switch brands just yet. We seriously have soo many Pampers I would hate to have to buy more.
I have no idea. DS has blow outs all the time, DD never did. He can have barely any poo in the front of the diaper and the thing is full way up to his back and beyond. It's apparently just the way he poops. Lucky us

I use cloth and fold down the back inside it creates a "poop trap"

Haha...poop trap! We don't use cloth but I wonder if I could get some of the disposable inserts and use them like this...
ditto the poop fold. we cloth 95% of the time, but the poop fold works on both.
I'd still try a different brand, if you switch, you can donate them or sell them on craigslist maybe
