Multiples

multipules while on Clomid

Hello ladies, I am lurking and had a question for you.  I was wondering if any of you were on Clomid when you conceived multiples?  I ask because I was on 100mg (day 3-7) when I conceived, our doctor did tell us that there was a 10% chance that we could have more than one baby.  Just curious if any of you experienced that.

My boys are Clomid + IUI babies, but I think you'll find it more people that had multiples on this board. I know that a lot of people that take clomid just have a singleton.

Was your cycle monitored? I had three mature follies so I knew that multiples were a possibility, but we were okay with that and proceeded with the IUI.  It looks like you got your bfp a few weeks ago. When is your first u/s?

Clomid twins here also. But I agree with the previous poster, you won't really get an accurate picture on this board since we all have multiples, but yes some of them are from Clomid Best wishes for a h&h pregnancy!
  • I was on Clomid and just found out last week that I'm having twins.  However, twins do run in my family so there could have been some gene factor that upped my percentage.

I had my first u/s at 6w4d.  Have you scheduled yours yet?

    Congrats on your pregnancy!

  • We conceived DS on 100mg of Clomid and he was a singleton. This pregnancy was from injections cause Clomid no longer worked. Good luck at your first u/s.

  • 50mg Clomid days 5-9 for the cycle we conceived our twins.  My cousin got pg twice on Clomid (not sure the days or dosage), once was twins and then a singleton.

    That's cool!

Clomid didn't work for me, but DD and the twins are Repronex/IUI babies, the cycle with DD I had a 20mm and an 18mm, got one baby.

The cycle with the twins I used 4 less vials and stimmed for two less days, had a 20mm and a 16mm and got boy/girl twins.

  • Yep, clomid here! 50 mg days 3-7 only had one mature follie (18mm) so OB wasn't sure it would work and wrote a Rx for 100mg for the next month. As you can see it worked quite well and twins are on the way. Will be interesting to see if they are ID or not :)

  • Also clomid babies. I knew we had a higher chance because while being monitored we saw two follies. It was 50 mg Clomid (days 3-7).

These are Clomid babies!  We did 100 mg Day 3-7 (after two failed Clomid cycles), and we originally got pregnant with triplets.  We lost baby C at 8 weeks.

My SIL did Clomid and is having a singleton, but not sure what dosages.

  • Clomid twins here too, sort of. Since my girls are identical, that means the Clomid didn't make me release 2 eggs -- and that's the 8 percent to 10 percent chance the docs talk about for multiples. Instead, it just helped me release one egg that then split. Talk about small chances!
  • I think I was on 50mg of Clomid when we conceived.  We were totally find with the chance of multiples, but still very surprised (and happy) when we found it was twins.  :)

  • 50mg of clomid days 3-7 for 1 cycle. We had 3 mature so we knew that it was possible. We now have 5 month old triplets and love it!

     GL with everything!

  • This is our 3rd clomid pregnancy.  My first 2 were singletons and now we are blessed with a twin pregnancy!

  • Thank you for your response!  How exciting for all of you.  We knew it was a risk when we (me) started taking it.  At this point we would be happy with any baby(ies) we can get!
  • Clomid babies here! I was on either 50 or 100 and only for one month (after 2 years of infertility- see my sig.)! :P There is a less than 1% chance of triplets w/ Clomid (from the research I found) and that was what we got! lol I still laugh at the odds because I was so against multiples for sooooo long because my brother and sis are pergonal & IUI babies and there were 3, but one only made it to 15 days after birth. I didn't want to go through anything like that -but apparently someone upstairs had better plans for us and we are sooo happy for our b/g twins (Baby A passed at 9-10 wks). GL and H&H 9 mo! Keep us posted!
