TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

My morning trip to the RE

I start off with the day a phone call from the RE. She is calling to tell me that my prolactin was now elevated. She's telling me that I need to have it rechecked next time I come in and I tell her I'm getting ready to leave my house to come to her office. She says well, as long as you didn't eat she could draw it today. She said this as I was putting the protein bar in my mouth and making my coffee. I drive there and they draw the prolactin and I ask if they can draw the blood they would need for the monitoring appointment that I was scheduled for the next day, saving me a copay and a early morning trip. Then they put me a room so they can do the trial transfer and SHG and check my follies. So I'm sitting there with my pants off for 20 minutes and I decide I had to go to the bathroom. You know that feeling, like should I try to hold it or do I just go, well, I finally decide to go. The doctor then comes in looking for tissues. My heart breaks for who ever needs the tissues. She finally comes back and tells me she that the girl down the hall had heard a heart beat last week and none this week. She went on to say that the betas hadn't risen the way they expect but then they heard the heart beat. So sad. Anyway, my SHG went according to plan and my follies are all small, like 12 under 10mm. I leave there an hour and a half after I was supposed to be at work.

Anyway, that my morning. I also told my RE and my DH that this is the month it's going to happen. This IUI is going to be successful. That will make it happen, right?

  • Good luck to you, Amy! I think that intuition is a pretty powerful thing, and if you're having a good feeling about the cycle that's great. Feeling positive is ALWAYS a good thing.
