How long did your LO wear size 2T?

I realize every child is different, but am just curious about this. I went to our Carters/osh Kosh outlet and bought all 2t clothes (12 pants, 15 shirts, 1 winter coat, 1 fall coat, 3 pair of shoes, and 2 hats for $80)

I'm just hoping he'll be in them for a while! He wears 18/24 mo. shirts, 18 mo pants right now.

  • Like you said..every kid is different. DS is tiny and still wearing clothes from last year, size 2's.

  • I was snooping around over here, but had to giggle when I saw this post.
My chunky monkey is wearing some 2T shorts right now.  What can I say? The babe got his mama's thunder thighs!!! :)

Lol, thanks for the laugh! :) He may be in 2T for a while as he grows and gets taller too! :)

  • Holy moly!  I guess DD is a peanut - she only started wearing 3T about a month ago, and she's going to be 3 in a few weeks.  Her 2T pants are finally short on her! (But she can still wear some 2Ts, especially pjs)

  • He wore it for about 7 months.  He only wore 3T for a few months.  He grew a lot this spring.

DS2 can wear 2T now.  The other morning DS1 asked why DS2 was wearing his pjs.  I took everything from his closet and up it right into the other.

  • DD is still wearing 2T. Then again, she is still wearing some things that are 18 months. We finally put away a shirt that was 12 months. It really depends on the kid and the clothes. She has some 3T that really appear small and I can't imagine her wearing them long at all.
  • DD went from 18-24 month clothes to 3T over night.  She was in 2T for maybe a few months but not long enough to really get good use out of them.  She also went through a huge growth spurt right around 2.  She was 35 inches at her 2 year appointment and just yesterday she measured at 37 inches.  I refuse to buy any pants until she stops growing. :)

  • DD still fits in most 2T (and 18-24 months).  The only 2T that seem a little small are Cherokee brand from Target.

  • My 3-year-old is still in his 2Ts. I'm just barely starting to think about pulling out the 3Ts I have stashed away.

  • Jack is still wearing a lot of his 2T pants and shorts - he is tall (90th percentile for height) but slender (50th percentile for weight) so the 3T waist bands are still kind of loose on him.  He wears all 3T shirts though.  But he has been able to wear his 2T's for a long time - some of the stuff he wore last summer and is now wearing again which has been surprising - you get so used to them only wearing a size for a few months!  But 2T's have been our most used clothing size to date.
    Wheee!

  • 9m to a year in 2T - she can still fit in a lot of it, but its starting to get a little ill-fitting.

This. We moved to 2T around 18mo and are just rotating everything out to 3T. He's got a long torso and I guess shorter legs so he can still wear 24mo-2T shorts because they still fit in the waist. He has to wear 3t jeans but sinched up in the waist. That being said I'm also just moving my 3.5mo old to the 6-9mo size.  He's getting all his brother's hand-me-downs but he is bigger than Z was at that age.

  • He wore mostly all 2T until about 4-6 months ago.

He is currently 35lbs if that helps.

  • DD wore 2T all last fall, winter and spring, so about 9 months. She can still wear some 2Ts (especially shorts) but the 2T pants are starting to look short on her (we've had a cold snap so I had to put her in her old jeans the last few days).

However, she's always been on the small side. She didn't start wearing 2T until 4 months after her 2nd birthday.

  • DD started wearing 2T around 18 months (she was in cloth diapers, so pretty bulky).  She's 75% for height, 25% for weight.  She can still wear 2T shorts at 33 months b/c she's wearing underwear, but pants and shirts are too short now.  3T pants are too big around the waist, though, so she yanks them up, lol.  She still fits into her 2T coats, though (I got 2 winters out of them).  Long story short, I guess she wore them about a year.
