Parenting after 35

decisions, decisions

It is 1:45. Riley Ann is asleep.  Do I sleep or clean the house? Or eat? My parents are coming to visit tonight for the week and the bathroom and extra bedroom need some cleaning......oh what to do!

This...besides you just had a baby and parents understand, lol. I went through my nesting phase (again) after I had Zachary. Oh boy it included laundry too. DH yelled at me since I had a C/S and told me to take it easy. Gotta love it!

  • sleep! if your parents are coming, I'm guessing it's to help, not make more work for you.

Sleep, Grandma can hold the baby later while you clean, or cook, or whatever.

    I hope you slept!

This! Everything is easier when you are not tired (or in newbaby land exhausted).

Right now nap time is always cleaning or bumping. When DS was Riley Ann it was sleeping.
  • If you can sleep, totally go for it. I've been amazed how often LO falls asleep and I somehow can't get myself to sleep. So it's a rare opportunity.

And when my mother visited, she cleaned. It was awesome.

  • Would you believe I only started doing the "sleep when the baby sleeps" jazz within the last few weeks? And OMG, there were a few days last week where she took longer than normal naps, and I wasted my nap opportunities wondering WHY she was sleeping like she was. Dummy me.

I do that too. Miss out on great pumping opportunities for the same reason.
