Any Tips on Feeding Babyfood Purees?

My daughter refuses to eat her babyfood all of a sudden.  My son has always been easier to feed the purees to since he opens his mouth for the food, whereas my daughter does the tongue thrusting thing moreso.  Despite the tongue thing, she still seemed somewhat interested in the food and ate some.  Lately, she won't take any purees.  She spits the food out and cries.  I've tried feeding her part of a bottle first and then feeding the food, not feeding any of the bottle to her and starting with the food first (bottle after) and doing the food after she's had a bottle - nothing works.  I'm starting to wonder if she's just not ready to eat babyfood yet.  Any suggestions?

You could try baby led weaning...some kids just don't like puree's. Or just keep at it longer, I know it took a while for DS to accept the whole baby food thing. GL>

  • She may not be entirely ready yet....I think what you are doing sounds great, so just try to remember that she doesn't NEED the purees right now, so it isn't a big deal if she takes ne or two spoonfuls, or none at all. I would just take the pressure off and I think she will come around with a little more time.
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation.
    Because we're fancy like that.

this! :)  Also, DS didn't like purees that weren't sweet...he would gobble down veggies in their whole form, but detested them as a puree.
