chelle_ann - wall shelves

I saw your comment about needing wall shelves in the progress survey.  We just hung these from Home Depot last night and they look great!  The only downside is they aren't available in stores (even though the website says they are), so we had to order them online.  Just thought I'd share!

Re: chelle_ann - wall shelves

  • Thank you! I have been having the hardest time finding these! I had bought some from Target several years ago---but the mounting hardware was horrible. The shelf didn't sit flush to the wall, and there was NO way I would put anything on them (especially in a nursery!)  Did these mount pretty sturdily?

I am going to go into the store to check what they might have! Thank you!

  • No problem!  These mounted well.  We couldn't get them in studs due to where we wanted them on the wall (there is some room to fudge it with how the hardware is designed, but our studs were so far off we couldn't make it work).  I wouldn't put anything really heavy on them, but they are more than sturdy enough for what we need them for (wooden letters of his name and some bobbleheads).  I think it helps that these are only 4.5" wide, all the ones I saw at Target and other stores were much wider, at least 8".

I'll warn you that our Home Depot did not really have anything like these in the store, it was all closet-type shelving with visible brackets.  Maybe yours will, though!
