S/O Deswaddling

Can I do the one-arm thing with the Summer swaddles?  We've swaddled DD from the beginning but her legs have been free for weeks because she is so tall.  She loves being swaddled but the last 3 of 4 nights she's broken free so I figure it might be time.  I hadn't thought of doing one arm- will that work in the Summer swaddles?

    We swaddle DD loosely in the Summer Swaddlers and within a few hours she has "freed" her hands.

    I use a Summer Swaddle and do one arm out for naps.  At night I still fully swaddle her and use a double "escape proof" swaddle.  Here's the link:

    interesting - how do you let her legs free?  do you Summer swaddle her and just let the leg pouch hang or lay behind her legs?  this might be something we should try!

    Yep.  I lay her on the swaddle like normal, but I just don't tuck in her legs.  Then just wrap her arms.  It's better because she is so tall already that her little toes were squished in the ends!

    We use the Summer Infant swaddle and DD has been de-swaddling herself for the past couple of weeks.  For naps, we usually put her down with one arm out and she usually frees her other arm within 10 minutes.  At night, we still swaddle her fully, but again, she gets her arms free at some point.  She's been waking up a bit more often, but this could also be because she's teething right now, too.  I'm hoping we can ditch the swaddle pretty soon, but I'd like DD to learn how to roll belly to back first (right now she can only go back to belly), so she doesn't get stranded on her belly and scream for DH or me to come rescue her every 5 minutes...
