A question and a suggestion for the workout check in...

Did we pick a day to weigh in and/or talk about how we have been doing meeting our goals? I can't remember, but I think we definitely should so that when we are seeing results, we can AW them. Also, I was thinking maybe we could add a diet/healthy eating component to the check-ins. That is the hardest part and I'd love to get suggestions and advice from other people about healthy snack and meal ideas, how much to eat while BFing, etc. Maybe we could make it a "Fit Mama" check in (or something more creative and catchy, I'm drawing a blank...) and we could post about anything related to getting fit and healthy. Wdyt?

  • I am totally open to suggestions!!! I think we were going to weigh in/progress toward goals on Fridays but I was totally sucking last week and let everybody down on that one.... Help me out with the acronyms, what's AW?

    And as far as creativity, yeah, I'm a science nerd, not a creative bone in my body. I def need help with that! I like the "Fit Mama" idea. :)

    For diet and healthy eating, etc. I started using SparkPeople a while back and found it really easy to use and free. There's a nutrition tracker and a workout tracker that even suggests strength training exercises if you want it to. It can calculate based on your current weight and goals, how much you should eat and how many calories to burn. Here's the link to their pregnancy site that takes breastfeeding into consideration-

    The only issue I have with it is that I don't think they have a phone app, so it's not as "easy" to use.

  • Sorry I'd double replying, but I just thought of an idea. What if we made each day based on something different for fitness? For example-

    Monday Motivation! What's going to keep you going this week?

    Tuesday Tasties- healthy meal suggestions/new recipe finds

    Wednesday Workout- workout check-in

    Thursday (?)- how have you avoided temptation this week?

    Friday (all I can think of with an "F" is Forward Progression, lol!)- Weigh in/How are you doing meeting your goals?

    Like I said- I'm not creative so please help me out!

  • I like the idea of sharing how we are doing with our goals.  I also like PP's ideas of doing a different "theme" for each day of the week.  Maybe we could share a recipe or healthy snack idea one of the days like OP suggested?  I would like to keep sharing our workouts every day, because that has really kept me motivated!

  • Thank you for the input! I also think I should post earlier in the day, maybe lunch time?  So I guess that means I need to post nowish....

    Keep leaving suggestions and I'll tweak it as we go! :)
