To call or not to call...

Hey ladies!

I am one of those people that will only call the doctor if I am on my deathbed.  I know that is not the best attitude to have while pregnant.  So, I am asking you ladies, should I call or not?  I have had cramping on and off since Wednesday.  Cramps alone don't get me too worked up, but then Saturday I had two different occurrences of dark brown clumps when I wiped.  I haven't had any more clumps, but I am still having some cramps.  I am thinking this is just the stretching that goes on in there, but I was just looking for any other insight.

On a side note, my m/s has subsided and apparently my m/s has just been hiding my gluttony...I am a bottomless pit!!!!

TIA!!

Re: To call or not to call...

  • Has your pain been in the same spot or side consistently? Not to scare you but with my ectopic I had terrible cramping and brown spotting so I would call and get it checked out.

  • I'd call.  If the spotting has stopped, it may be nothing, but the doctors and the nurses are used to dealing with a lot of questions.  I think better to check in with them than not.

  • Cramps are normal for the most part -- but I might call just to see what they say regarding the dark brown clumps.  People always say dark/ brown blood is old blood and nothing to worry about.  But with any blood at all I would always feel comfortable just calling.

  • I would call just to check. Better to be safe than sorry.

  • I had the same thing on Thursday night and I called. No shame in checking things out.

ETA: everything is fine so far but dr. told me to take it easy for a few days.

  • When in doubt, always call. That is what you pay the doctors for. It could very well be nothing but it is always best to make sure.

  • I've had spotting and cramping at 5 weeks, I'm still cramping to this dat and it is normal BUT it is ALWAYS advised to call the doc to make sure nothing is wrong. So I would call. Better be safe than sorry. Good luck!

  • Thanks ladies!  I need to get over not wanting to "bother" the doctor.  I called and talked to the MA.  She said to just drink water and take it easy and she will call me back after she talks to the doctor.  I am sure it's fine, but if anyone could spare some T&Ps I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks again ladies!
