Thrush ?

DD#2 has thrush in her mouth.  DD#1 had it at the same exact age when she was a baby.  Nystatin did not work for her, but the gentian violet did.  My pedi suggested going straight to the gentian violet this time.

My question is (forgot to ask pedi), is there anything I can do to help avoid the thrush?  Just seems weird that BOTH of my girls got it at the same age, so I just want to make sure there is nothing I am doing that is putting them at a higher risk for it.

Oh, and I FF...so it is not an issue for me.

    My FF DD also had it, and we had to go to the gen. violet.

    Pedi told me it's just super common and there's nothing to do to prevent it, really. We boil her bottle parts and everything, and replace her burp cloth after each feeding, so I feel like I do all I can to keep the yeast from growing/spreading. It just happens, sadly.
