When to get out of the Rock and Play?

in Babies: 0 - 3 Months

My daughter is about 5 weeks old and has been sleeping in her Rock and Play next to our bed at night. She HATES being on her back so when I try to get her in the crib or even nap on the bed with me, she stays awake.

Any suggestions how to wean her out of it? Or even when to start trying?

    My LO sleep in the rock and play for the first two weeks. The only way I was able to get him into the crib at night was to swaddle him tight. It's only been a few nights but he does not seem to mind it. GL

    My girls love theirs so much we bought a second one. They are going on 3 months Tuesday and are still sleeping in theirs and will continue to until the weight limit.

    Someone here posted that a good way to wean off the RnP was to keep adding some elevation in the bum area to make it slowly more flat. I put a folded cloth diaper under his bum, and will slowly move it so the elevation is less.

    I definitely wouldn't worry about that any time soon.  They can stay in until 25 pounds or when they can sit up.  Our DD sleeps great in it, so I'm not planning on weaning for another two months probably (she only sleeps in it at night, though).

    My DD is 10 weeks and we JUST started using it last Wednesday and I wish we were using it sooner. She slept 10 1/2 hours the first night but since then has gone down to between 5-7 hours a night. I'm hoping she really likes it ans leeps better until she hits the weight limit. Then we'll deal.

    Agreed!!  The best invention EVER!  My DD is 3 1/2 months and still using it.  I don't think we would have survived the last 2 months without it!

    daisy your daughter is GORGEOUS!!!!! love that picture!

    and my LO has slept in her R & P since she came home from the hospital. she is 10 weeks today and 13 pounds. she will stay in there until she cant be in it anymore =) i love having her next to my bed. it has been a lifesaver for her acid reflux. she will throw up if she lays flat on her back. the dr said that this is great for her to sleep in =)
