Should I call my doctor? Dog hit me in stomach.

My dog jumped up and hit me in the lower area of my stomach yesterday.  It hurt and my stomach was sore throughout the day, in that area.  Should I call the doctor today or just not worry about it?

ETA:  I just listened to the heartbeat with my doppler and everything sounded fine. Still debating on whether or not to call.

  • Baby is very well protected in there. Unless there is cramping or bleeding, I wouldn't bother. If you are worried, I would go ahead and call.

I agree, give your doctor a call and see what they recommend.

  • No need to go to the Doctor. Your baby is just fine in there. There is a lot of shock absorbers in there. Us preggos can take a few spills and still be ok. As long as there is no bleeding or any other symptoms you are fine.

  • Yeah, your uterus is a like a giant shock absorber for the baby. You'd have to have pretty significant trauma - a fall from a height or a car accident or something - for the baby to be affected.
  • Baby is very well protected!

We got into a car accident when I was 6 weeks and my dr's office said everything was ok.  As long as I wasn't bleeding I was good.

  • You were probably sore from round ligament pain and the worry of wondering if everything is ok. I am sure baby is just fine and has no idea rover said hello!

  • If it were me, I would call if for nothing else, just so your doctor knows about it.  Or, if you have an appointment coming up soon, just let your doctor know then.  My SIL is due in October and last month, some lady that didn't know she was pregnant, thought she was getting fat and punched her in the side of the stomach.  I was so angry at this lady! To me, it's really obvious that she's pregnant but even if it wasn't who does that?   I made my SIL go to the doctor the next week just to check on the baby.  The baby is fine but I don't take chances with that stuff.  I'm sure everything's fine though.  The baby is pretty well protected in there.
