I was just reading on one of the other boards and most were stating their docs had advised them not to consume any alcohol. I understand the point...but at the same time, who knows if I can even get pregnant and how long it will take?? I think of how many people get pregnant from drunken one night stands and go on to have perfectly healthy babies. For the record, I am not a heavy drinker, just socially and maybe some wine on the weekends. This is just our first cycle, so I am hoping for opinions or feedback from some of you ladies on the topic. Thanks!
Re: ? Re: alcohol consumption and TTC
Drink till it is pink is my moto! I can't imagine giving it up to ttc if we didn't have problems. Now if an RE suggests to not drink due to medications that is a whole diffrent ball game. But it doesn't sound like that is what is going on here at all.
Here! Here! and Cheers!
I gave it up occassionally while we were TTC, but it took us forever and a day to get pg (3 years!) and when it did eventually happen I had wine every single day the whole week of possible conception.
I am definitely in the drink till its pink crowd too. I am not say
FWIW-The first two rounds of IF meds I did, I did not drink at all during the 2 ww. The next 2 rounds, I maybe had a drink (either a Friday or Saturday). This round, I will have a beer tonight with my dinner.

This exactly.
I was actually drunk when I tested positive with DS (a very welcome - but huge - surprise). It was Christmas Day and we had hosted a kickass dinner and well....
With DD it took a couple years and a year of IF treatments and my OB and RE both said alcohol was not a concern. So I didn't concern myself with not drinking. LOL.
Amen to this. I drank when TTC both times, but not like my olden days of blacking out several times a week when I was in my 20s.
ETA: I was drinking beer when I tested positive this time - I took 1 last chug and dumped it out, then called DH who was out.

late to the game but i was definitely a part of the 'drink til its pink' crowd .. the only reason why i'd stop is if there was a medical reason for me to stop while i was ttc.
