Can you use a tampon with endometrium?

I feel like the answer is no....(why would we all be putting up with that mess if there was an alternative) but figured I would ask anyway.  I pushed back my IVF a month so I will hopefully be like 4 weeks pregnant when we go to the beach in September and therefore on the suppositories still (my office doesn't do PIO anymore). Obviously, being pregnant is more important than swimming, but well....I would like to go in the pool at least (and G is going to want to stay in the pool 24/7 so I really don't want to 1) have to make DH be the only one who can be with her and 2) give her the impression Mommy won't go in the water and have fun.

    No you can't, but if you're going to go swimming for a few minutes I don't see why you can't use one and then get out of the pool and take it out - obviously not medical advice, but I think we've all worn a tampon for a few hours in anticipation of AF (or at least I have) and haven't suffered majorly from it.

    Can you request PIO even though they don't do it? I am planning to ask since DS is taking swimming lessons this year and I need to be in the pool with him....that being said, I kow some dr's in my practice use it just not mine.

    ETA: I asked my MIL who's an IVF nurse about swimming w/ suppositories and she said you really should be on PIO...she's not a doctor so I would ask their oppinion but just throwing that out there.

    I'm confused.  Why would you need to use a tampon?  If you get your period, then you would stop the Endometrin and could use a tampon no problem.  If you're pg and on the Endometrin, then just swim like normal.  Yes, it leaves some wonderful discharge, but nothing that anyone would notice in a pool.  I've been on Endometrin for a while now and swim in our backyard pool with no issues.
