I am Tracy and my H and I are trying so far. We started trying about 1 1/2 weeks ago and I just got off my bc then. I have been wanting to start a family for a while but we both were in school and wanted to finish so I have been waiting to start. Now that we don't have school to worry about anymore I am hoping we can get pregnant soon.
Re: ttc
Congratulations and welcome.
I would head over to FertilityFriend.com and read the tutorials there - the site is free and has tons of information. Many of the women here use it. Pick up a BBT thermometer and some Prenatal vitamins at the store (Target, amazon, wherever) and start charting your morning temps and taking a PNV every day - you don't need a Rx, but you do need the extra folic acid!! Start today.
If you'd like more information on conception, pick up a copy of TCOYF - google it. Barnes & noble should have it, or at your library/used bookstore.
Most of us have been woefully undereducated on how our bodies work and how exactly conception happens. There's a lot of great information in those two resources, I would check them out.
If you haven't been to your GYN lately, head there for a check up and let them know that you're TTC. Then head to your dentist and get a check-up there (and tell them you're TTC).
Lastly, sit down with DH and have a financial and relationship check-up with each other. Where are you on the spend vs save scale, how are you going to afford baby, plus everything baby needs afterwards. Don't drown in the details, but it's important to know now that you want to SAHM and DH is expecting you to go back to work, etc. Just touch base with each other and make sure you're on the same page... or if not, you know what page the other is on!
Lastly, congratulations and welcome to the Bump. The boards here are full of wonderful, fun, fantastic women. Each board has a different vibe to it, so lurk a lot, then introduce yourself to the board. You'll find one that fits. Just remember, when you ask for advice, you'll get it - you just may not want to hear what others have to say.
Enjoy!
Welcome!
I just stopped taking my bc a few weeks ago! Talk about crazy hormones! I have cried at the oddest times for no real reason at all! Did anyone else experience that coming off of the pill? I have a 15 yr old and have been on the pill ever since I had her.
Best of luck to you Tracy!
