If your DC was around 8 lbs. at birth....

How long were they in newborn clothes?  I feel like I may have too much newborn stuff, but maybe not.  DD was 7 lbs. even at birth and wore her newborn stuff until about 6-7 wks.  Everything else was ginormous on her.

My OB is thinking this little guy is going to be around 8 lbs. but not much bigger, if at all.  So, I am not sure exactly what I may need.....

    My DD was 8,2 and we had NO newborn clothes. I wished we did, though, because 0-3s were huge on her! I'd say she could've worn NB clothes for about 3 weeks after she was born, and she gained weight pretty consistently...

    Ethan was 7 lb 13 oz and could only wear newborn for maybe a week. However, he was really long and I think that played into it, too. DD couldn't ever really wear newborn, either, because she was just too long for it (she was 6 lb 8 oz)

    My DS was 7lbs 5oz.  He was in NB for about 6 weeks.

     Buy a bunch of stuff, wash 2 things.  Keep the receipt and if they're the wrong size return the rest.

    DD was 8 lbs 10 oz, she lost the 10 oz within 2 days.  I only had 1 newborn size sleeper, the 0-3 were huge on her, so my mom ran out and bought her a bunch of sleepers in newborn size.  She wore them for about 2-3 weeks.

    I would buy just a few newborn sleepers so he has some things that fit him well.

    My son was 8 pounds 3.8ounces and wore newborn clothes for about a month I believe.  I think a lot has to do with length.  And he was swimming in his newborn clothes for the first week or so.

    Kate was 8 lb 1 oz.  She never wore NB size--went straight to 0-3.  I had two NB sleepers that fit for maybe a week, but she was 11 lbs by her 2 wk appt so she grew QUICKLY!

    DS was 7lbs 14oz and he wore NB clothes for about 4 weeks.

    DS was almost 8lbs at birth and wore newborn clothes for 2-3 weeks max.

    DD was 8 pounds 10 ounces and went home from the hospital in a newborn outfit and that was it.  She literally never wore newborn clothes and didn't fit in newborn diapers either.  They even started her in size 1 at the hospital.

    DD was 8lbs 7 oz. and was able to wear newborn clothes for about a month and a half. DS was 9 lbs 1 oz and fit in newborn clothes for 3 weeks or so.

    My DD was actually around 9lbs (8lbs15oz) at birth, but she could wear newborn clothing for a month!  0-3 were HUGE on her for a while.  When she finally did grow into them, she wore them until she was 3-4 months old.  HTH.

     I should state that we really only had 2 newborn outfits.  So DD was actually wearing her 0-3 month clothing right away.  They just looked ridiculous on her...lol.
