For anyone who's had a lap done, how many incisions did you have? My doc originally said they would go through my naval, but I also have a 1 1/2 inch incision right about where a C/S would be. He did mention to DH about having to do some 'extra' but I was too out of it to totally understand.
Is that a normal incision, or was that the 'extra' he was talking about? And, since it's right under the waistband of my pants...what did you do to make it a little less uncomfortable?

Good luck to you! I'm doing ok. Mostly just bloated and gassy, but the pain is ok. It's just that one unexpected incision that's irritated because of where it is. The others are all near my belly button, so they're not bad at all.
ETA: The best advice I got before surgery was to make sure to have a laxative and some gas-x on hand. The perc really messes with you.
I had three incisions. One inside my belly button and two below the bikini line, one on each side. The incisions are about 1/2" long and the scar is minimal. The scar at my belly button is inside it, so you don't even see it.
My best advice is, if you get gas pains, elevate your legs above your head. This helps to rid your body of the gas quicker. I only had one gas pain after the surgery. The anesthesiologist was the one who told me that trick.
How do you know its terrible without a lap?
I think she was worried it might be, not that she knows anything yet. I know I feared the worst going in, too.
All I can say is I couldn't wear anything tight, belts, and certain underwear for a while. I have some comfy skirts and sweats. There's really not really much else you can do other than take it easy.
Today is my one week mark. I'm definTely doing better. But it's still a little annoyingly painful, more like just a bruised feeling.
I've been TTC over 2 years, all other DX seems to be borderline normal across the board, I have a 20 year history of painful ovarian cysts and terribly excruciating periods. I feel like it must be endo/scar tissue and I'm anxious to find out. Endo never even occurred to me until I finally met with an RE last week for the first time. Is there a certain time during your cycle that you do schedule the Lap? (i.e. mid cycle?)
Thanks for making me laugh Mrs. Umm, I hope you are feeling better!!!!
