I just started back to work 2 weeks ago and am pumping so DD gets 3 bottles during the day.
I used to nurse her when I get home (5:30), before she went to sleep (8:00) and again before I went to sleep (11:00), but lately she's refusing the breast. I kept trying all last night and finally had to pump and have DH give her a bottle because she was in hysterics. Any suggestions on what to do? I'm afraid if I don't nurse her when i'm home, my not so good supply is just going to get worse. Please help!
ETA: She nurses perfectly fine in the morning and before I leave for work so that helps a bit..but nothing in the evenings!!
Re: XP: Baby refusing breast!
You could try using a nipple shield, my boys did well with that when transitioning from a bottle to breast because it feels more like a bottle to them. Now I have different nipples for my bottles and they don't need the shields.
This could definitely be the reason. With the bottle the food just pours right into their mouths, and with the breast they have to work at it. She's probably tired at the end of the day, and just doesn't want to work to eat.
