Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Couple of good days with LO, and then...BAM!

LO is 6 weeks old and we have just had a really rough past 6 weeks.  She has reflux and a milk allergy so a lot of time & energy has gone into finding the right meds, dosages, formula, etc.  The last couple days have been awesome.  She has been napping well, sleeping well at night, and peaceful & happy during her awake times.  I was sooo hopeful and thinking we made it!  Then today happened. :(  She was awake alllll afternoon, mostly crying.  Slept for 10 minutes a few times.  I would almost have rather not had the past couple good days that gave me false hope!  Ugh.  Sorry, just needed to vent....

  • I am sorry to hear you are having a rough time. :0(

I dont know if you are using one, but when my peanut gets fussy putting her in the carrier works for her. She fusses for a few minutes usually then it's lights out.

  • We are going through the EXACT same thing with ds#2. We were actually just told to switch formulas again - to Nutramigen AA (no milk at all) and up his Pepcid dose.So we're starting from square one again waiting for things to "kick in"

I wake up every day never knowing what kind of baby I'll have that day. I just try to keep telling myself that this too shall pass!!

  • I COMPLETELY understand these feelings.

Our DS has reflux. It first showed up around 3 weeks. From 3 weeks to 7 weeks, we were adjusting formulas, trying meds, adjusting meds. I had so much anxiety whenever he woke up.

I am doing better now. There are still times I worry when he gets up, but at least I know what to look for when the meds don't seem to be working. (I'm not sure how comforting that is, but I have to cling to small things I actually "know" now) The ped tells us that he is doing well, we just have to wait until he grows out of this.

It is very hard as a 1st time mother to hear "he'll grow out of it" but I know it is the truth. Can't he grow out of it faster though.

     Hang in there!
