Would this make you mad XP

My EX has finally decided that he wants to try to be part of K's life. So he sees him like every 2 weeks if that. Way to win father of the year ...Indifferent

Anyways he was here last Tuesday...and I asked him to watch K while I ran upstairs to take a shower. I was gone like 10 mins max and come downstairs to K sitting in his bouncy seat parked in front of the tv with ESPN on. My EX was outside talking on his phone and smoking a cigarette. WTF....really is it to hard for you to spend time with your son.

This has literally bugged me for a week now.  He tries to tell everyone how much he loves K and how much he means to him. BUT every time he is with him...he doesnt spend time with him. Then he wonders why K screams bloody murder when my EX tries to hold him when Im around.

This happens with my ex too. It depends on the flavor of the day if he'll be doting or not. I feel your pain/anger.

  • Wow, so not cool.  I get mad at H for texting while next to L instead of watching her.  Lucky for me his phone was stolen 3 weeks ago and the insurance is taking its sweet time getting his application reviewed lol

Perhaps if you have him take his son for a walk or something he'd be more involved with him because he CANT set him in front of the TV and get away?

  • I would definitely mad.  Not sure what would make me more mad- the fact that he pt him in front of the tv, or that he did it so he could have a cigarette!  NOT cool!

  • I don't know if I would be THAT mad...I often see DH watching ESPN when he gets home from work and is hanging out with Auds.  It's his only time to relax from working all day, and I understand wanting to chill out a little bit while playing with her.  When she's happily playing it's not like she needs 100% of our attention all the time.  I'm usually going back and forth between folding laundry, stirring dinner, or whatever while I'm spending time with her.

BUT, my DH is with her every day.  If K's dad is only spending a few hours a week with him, I think he can put the phone down, stub out the butt, and have it be Daddy time.

  • Yes. Who leaves a baby indoors unattended?  I can see going into the next room to pee, but not stepping outside.  And then he's going to bring thirdhand smoke around your infant?  I'd rage.

...no thanks to my PCOS (Dx 2006,though should've been dx during maybe the Clinton years).

P/SAIF always welcome, especially if you share your sticky baby dust! **Looking to buy some gently used, one size Fuzzibunz. PM/Page me if you're selling. Thanks!**

Me Embarrassed to let the dogs out- but I swear he's safe and locked into some kind of something.

Anyways, yes, it'd probably get me heated.  Just seems a little obnoxious- he gets only "x" amount of time with LO and he has to spend it doing that....meh.
