I drive a Toyota Sienna and I'm wondering how to arrange the three carseats we'll need in December. I will have one forward facing and two rear facing. What is the best arrangement for them? I'm considering putting the forward facing 3 year old in the third row because she will be able to walk back there by herself, but will I be able to get back there to buckle her in with the other two rear facing seats in the second row captains chairs? Does anyone else have this situation?

Re: Three kids in carseats?
We have three in carseats. My oldest (now over 4 and half) is forward facing in the third row - I can easily walk to the third row to buckle her in.
My other two are in the second row captain's seat. Rear facing didn't cause an issue with getting to the third row.
We have a Dodge Grand Caravan.....I'm not sure what the Sienna is like inside.....
We are hoping to have 3 in car seats and a Sienna and I think I'd like to keep them all in the middle row (we'd go for the 8 seater), but if we only had the 7 seater, that's what we'd do.
I have a Quest and only two children, but I found myself daydreaming about our third.
I'd consider putting LO#1 FF in the 3rd row, LO#2 RF in the 3rd row, LO#3 RF in a captains chair, and removing the other captains chair.
I cannot get to the third row easily with two RF in the captains chairs. I have to get in before the infant seat is in the base (which won't help when there is a RF convertible in that spot) or climb from the front seat down the middle of the van. Taking out a captains chair would give me access to the third row. Having LO#2 RF won't seem mean, since LO#1 and LO#2 will be able to see/entertain each other.
I also considered the above, but with LO#2 and LO#3 switching places because it would be easier to drop in a rear facing infant seat than to buckle in a rear facing convertible seat in the third row.
This was DH's idea. I'm still not sure. I think, I'm going to have to put all three car seats in and just test it out before #3 gets here.
We have a Sienna with 8 seats... we specifically got that model because it allowed us to safely tether 3 carseats in the middle row. So all 3 will be together with my oldest in the middle. I don't want to loose any of that awesome space in the back... I always have a double stroller in there and a single and I use the floor for diaper changes and when we have lunch on the go.
I have all three in the middle row in our midsize SUV: DD2 FF, DD1 FF (wouldn't fit RF), then DS RF without the base for his infant seat (it wouldn't fit behind drivers' seat with the base in).
We briefly had DD1 in the third row but it was a PITA to buckle her and I missed the trunk space.
It's certainly not perfect - DD has to crawl in through the front to get to her seat - but the best we can do. I bet you'll have an easier time - is a Sienna a minivan? Will probably get a van when we return to the states.
we have 3 in carseats. when the twins were born we had a rear facing, front in the middle and the other rear on the other side. we now have front facing, rear in the middle (dd is still kinda smalll) and another front on the other side. we have a land rover w/o a third row and this arrangment fits the best.
