My baby is 2 months old now and we have been using Enfamil.. he has really bad gas so we use the one for gassy babies.. well I hope this isnt TMI but ever since we switched the type his poop is really thick and is so hard to get him clean.. we have to use a billion wipes! Does anyone know if the gerber good start gentle one has the same affect on poopie diapers?
Re: Does anyone use Gerber good start formula?
Switching to Good Start Gentle (Gentle and Gentle Plus are the same thing, I called Gerber to make sure and they said they just changed the label not the formula) was the best thing I ever did. We were using Enfamil Gentlease and she would scream and cry, grunt and turn red for 30 mins before a poop. The consistency was so thick and like you said I went through a ton of wipes trying to get her clean.
Within 24 hours of switching she was a pooping champ. Now she goes right after a bottle and almost looks surprised. The consistency is more like a BF baby. The formula doesn't smell bad like the other brands. I even tasted it and it's like slightly sweetened milk. Little girl loves it and gets pissed if we try to pull the bottle out half way through to burp her.
She's also able to pass gas now, much to her Daddy's delight. He calls her CC the fart factory. Before we would have to bicycle her leg to help her get is out.

We went from Enfamil Infant to Good Start Gentle. The first 2 days he was straining hard to poop but now he is going 1-2 times a day. At first it was REALLY dark green and some of it was all stuck to his butt. I emailed my pedi to make sure all was OK with that and she said it was normal because of the high iron in the formula and that some babies poop on GS gentle can even be blue?!
